Geek of The Week: Chad Richison, CEO of Paycom

Paycom is a cloud based software solution provider that focuses on helping both large and small businesses to effectively manage their human resources and payroll services. Listed as the 23rd position in the list of the 29 best tech companies to work for in 2019,according to employees, the Oklahoma based company was founded in the year 1998 by Chad Richison who also doubles as the CEO of the organization till date.

The company, which is known to have a client base of over 17,000 businesses across the U.S helps these businesses to fully manage their employees. They do this from the point of employment up until retirement on a single database software. To aid their service effectiveness, Paycom launched the release of its mobile app. This mobile application launched has seen the rapid growth of the company with its annual growth rate for 3 years’ revenue being rated at about 42%.

Prior to founding Paycom, the 49 years old CEO had worked as a sales person in a national payroll and resources company and also a regional payroll company. The experience he got from these previous work positions gave him the foundation he needed to build Paycom as a company. Chad is a Mass Communications graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma.

According to employees, Chad Richison was named as one of Oklahoma’s most admired CEOs by the journal record in the year 2014. The company was listed as one of the most rapid growing public companies in the world by Fortune magazine, it was also rated as one of the top five fasted growing public technology companied in the Forbes’ magazine fast tech ratings in the year 2017. Chad Richison was also listed among Forbes’ list of 2019 billionaires with an estimated net worth of about $1.5 billion.

The married father of four is also known to be the founder of a non-profit organization known as The Green Shoe Foundation. This foundation is aimed helping people improve their total body wellbeing by maximizing workshops, therapies and counselling.
