Summary

If you are looking for a secure, reliable and helpful online backup service, My Docs Online is the provider for you. Their great range of features, along with their first-rate customer support and military grade security, make them the natural choice for all SMB’s.

Features

(4.5/5.0)

One thing My Docs Online is not short of are features, but their absolute standout feature is their file locking ability and editing via their desktop application.  Oftentimes with other providers such as Dropbox, two different users can be editing the same document at the same time. This will result in the changes made by one user wiping out the changes of the other. Alternatively, conflicting copies of the same document will be saved causing a waste of time reediting the documents. What My Docs Online’s file locking does is that it locks the document one user is working on from being edited by another user, thereby removing all of the hassle. Other features include:

  • Unlimited file sizes
  • Support all file types
  • Windows and Mac capabilities
  • Fast, professional file sharing, storage & collaboration
  • Account branding and corporate desktop app branding
  • Branded public customer upload page for receiving files
  • Drag & Drop files
  • Email notifications & alerts
  • Apps for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android

Support

(5.0/5.0)

My Docs Online provides the full support package: phone, email, chat and personalized support. As previously mentioned, they have an unbelievably helpful and friendly support team. It is refreshing not only to be able to speak with someone who is willing to help, but also representatives who know what they are talking about. Additionally, they provide a fully kitted out resource bank in their FAQ section. There they also provide video tutorials to help you get set up.

Ease of Use

(4.5/5.0)

Installation was an absolute breeze with the standard two minute instillation process. For those who are not computer literate there are video tutorials to help you get set up. These videos are specified to devices and generations of operating systems, such as windows XP, Windows 8, etc. The dashboard, though not stylish, is pretty straightforward to navigate. On the top you have four tabs to navigate between: your files and folders, settings, group administration (where you manage your folder permissions), and an account tab. With their drag and drop feature moving files is extremely easy. It is also possible to schedule you backups by day, week or month. Also, if a backup is interrupted, it will resume where it left off, thereby saving you the hassle and bandwidth of starting again.

Security

(5.0/5.0)

My Docs Online are HIPAA compliant, and they offer full password protection for file sharing and folder permissions. Users can choose that all their sessions use military grade 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) processing. Moreover, all files are stored on RAID devices, which in turn are replicated to an additional doubly-redundant storage subsystem. They really do offer unbeatable protection.

Pricing

(4.0/5.0)

My Docs Online offers 4 Industry Standard packages, however pricing can be customized to fit individual needs if additional users or storage is desired.  Their most basic package, ‘Solo,’ is $ 9.95 per month and includes one user and 1GB of storage. Their next package is ‘Pro,’ which costs $29.95 per month and includes three users and 5GB of storage.  Their second largest package is their ‘Team’ package, which costs $59.95 per month and includes up to ten users and 10GB of storage. Their biggest package is their enterprise package, costing $99.95 per month, and includes twenty users and 100GB of storage.
