Birch Communications is an Atlanta, GA based provider of business telecom services. Birch is known for innovation in cloud and managed solutions for its clientele and the provider has grown to become a trusted resource in the North American telecommunications arena. Completing its 21st acquisition in the past 8 years, Birch Communications has grown to become a $700 million dollar a year company that offers services in almost all of North America. Before the acquisition, Cbeyond was a publically traded company. As of now, Cbeyond isn’t being posted for trading on the NASDAQ exchange. Although this deal will require regulatory approval, it seems as if this all cash acquisition will not face any hurdles.

Vincent Oddo, CEO of Birch, was quoted in a press release as saying, “Cbeyond is a great strategic fit for Birch. This acquisition creates a truly unrivalled communications and technology services powerhouse that can serve businesses at every stage of their lifecycle.” Oddo continued by saying, “We are building on our heritage of redefining the way businesses are served and supported, and are well-positioned to meet the accelerating demand for broadband and cloud-based services – competitively, strategically and financially.”

Chief Operating Officer Chris Aversano mentioned, “We are excited to welcome the Cbeyond customers and employees! Superior, award-winning customer service will continue to be our number-one priority. The completion of this transaction means that all of our customers will now benefit from a comprehensive set of communications and managed-service capabilities that enable them to operate their businesses in an efficient and effective manner.”

In the press release, Birch noted that it services over 200,000 business customers. Birch also mentioned that it provides solutions for businesses at any phase in their lifecycle including startups all the way up to large companies. Birch has 6 datacenters and over 31,000 fiber route miles within its network.
